Are you looking to build your online shop or
setup your website to generate revenue online? We can help you to
achieve your goals to monetize your website.
Setting up an eCommerce website will allow you to sell your
products or services online via a virtual shopping cart system and
to accept secure credit card payments or PayPal transactions. We
can integrate with many of the major 'off the shelf' eCommerce
platforms, as well as specialising in building custom designed and
developed eCommerce applications.
In order to accept payment from online transactions through your
website you must have a Merchant Account setup through your
bank.
What do I need to be aware of for my eCommerce Website?
1. Merchant Account
A Merchant Account is simply a commercial account that
allows you to accept credit card transactions online, via your POS,
or any other payment integration system. With the exception of
Monster Pay and VCS you will need one setup.
2. Shopping Basket
All eCommerce websites require a shopping cart. If you decide to
integrate with an 'off the shelf' system like Magento, BigCommerce,
uCommerce, osCommerce, X-cart, ShopDirect, then all the bells and
whistles will be pre-built into your shopping cart, however there
is normally subscription fee and certain layout and design
restrictions associated with this route. The other option is to
develop a custom shopping cart platform. The benefits of this
route, mean that you determine exactly how the checkout process
should look and function and it's completely flexible to your
business needs.
3. Secure Server Connection (SSL
Certificate)
You want your clients to feel secure while they transact online
with you. This is what your SSL Certificate will do. Client data
(including credit card details) sent during the checkout process
will be securely protected and encrypted, eliminating the risk of
online fraud. Go the bespoke route where the payment transaction
happens on your site (domain) and you will need to purchase a SSL
Certificate. Some 3rd party payment gateway solutions like VCS,
navigate the user away to a secure connection on their domain, and
handle the SSL Certificate themselves. Prefer image

4. Payment Gateway Integration
In order to actually process the website credit card transactions,
you will need to integrate your shopping basket with a payment
gateway provider. In South Africa the major ones we work with are
MyGate, Virtual Card Services (VCS), PayGate, Netcash, Setcom. In
the UK, we've integrated with SagePay, WorldPay, SecurePay, HSBC,
Ogone.
