Kenya Airways PLC (KQ) has launched its new mobile application, fully redesigned and built by React Native specialists, Bluegrass Digital. The new app represents a major step in the airline’s ambition to enhance its digital capabilities and provide a seamless experience for modern travellers.

 

From the outset, the project focused on addressing previous performance and usability challenges and building a mobile experience that reflects the expectations of today’s global passenger. The new release demonstrates Kenya Airways’ commitment to elevating customer experience through smart, meaningful innovation.

 

A Mobile Experience Rebuilt from the Ground Up

The redevelopment centred on creating a more intuitive and scalable interface, strengthening security and improving long-term adoption and engagement. Previous issues such as crashes, slow responses and complex navigation were systematically resolved. The new app now provides a cleaner, more stable environment with faster loading times and a clearer user journey.

 

Travellers will notice faster loading times, cleaner navigation and more direct access to key tasks such as flight booking, Manage My Booking, check-in and flight status. The app also supports dark mode and includes flight history and search history, offering travellers a more connected and modern experience.

 

What Is Coming Next

This release is the first step in a broader roadmap to modernise the Kenya Airways mobile experience. Several new capabilities are already in development and will be introduced through phased updates. These include mobile boarding passes, integration of the Asante loyalty programme, in-app flight deals, baggage tracking, multilingual support and enhanced security features such as authentication and biometric login.

 

Bluegrass Director, Mark Hawkins, said the collaboration was defined by a shared commitment to building a strong and future-focused mobile foundation.

Kenya Airways will continue gathering customer feedback to guide these upcoming enhancements, ensuring the app grows in line with traveller needs and ultimately reaches full feature parity with the previous version before expanding further with new innovations.
