RCS is one of the largest consumer finance businesses in South Africa and a subsidiary of BNP Paribas.


The RCS website had been experiencing a number of performance challenges, underpinned by an ageing platform. It was rigid and bespoke in its overall design making it difficult to make website changes quickly through their CMS. This hindered its effectiveness in converting site traffic into leads and customers.


Apart from the requirement for a new CMS platform, another key objective was to address usability issues, to provide website visitors with an improved user interface and faster page response times, ultimately increasing the conversion rate of the website.

The Result

The website was launched successfully and overall performance has delivered immediate results for the business. From data metrics, the new website has gone from an F score to an A score in terms of loading speed, showing over 100% improvement. In addition, the speed of making updates to the website through Umbraco CMS has improved significantly, giving more time back to the business to focus in other important areas. Further benefits include more site ownership and less development involvement in making basic site changes.


These kind of results deliver a variety of benefits for RCS which include lower drop-off rates, more efficiency and higher conversion rates.
